Do you dream of travelling across the globe on a tax-free salary? Himanshi did, just like you. Sitting in the lobby of a five-star hotel, she is the picture of world famous airline glamour. Sipping her favourite mocktail, she looks out of the lobby window and tries to breathe the scenic view outside. She is in Sydney, Australia, and working with a top international airline as an air hostess.
Does she miss home? “No, every day I roam is home,” she says. The whole world is my home now. Every place belongs to me, and I love this life of cabin crew. We wonder what inspired this daughter of a simple family hailing from Shimla think this big in life. How did she got to travel the world and lead a luxurious life? We wanted to know what Himanshi’s life was as a flight attendant. How did she crack the tough recruitment process of the airline?
How did she become an air hostess?
I’m from Shimla. Right from the beginning I knew I wanted to earn after my graduation. Education has to go side by side. I started taking tuition and even thought of pursuing a B.Ed on the persuasion of my family members. However, it was a long process. Furthermore, my love for travel would have died a natural death while teaching. Then I came across one of my friends who was pursuing a six-month air hostess course from an air hostess academy in Delhi. I enrolled myself into the same course, and today, I am travelling the world for free and living my dream.
